Warm up before you work out!
The key to avoiding sports and exercise-related injuries? A good and proper warmup – specifically, some type of aerobic exercise. This increases the flow of blood and oxygen to your muscles, which heats the muscle tissue. Warm muscles are less prone to strain and irritation.
HERE’S A GREAT AND SIMPLE WAY TO GET YOUR BODY COOKING:
- Start by walking and moving your arms.
- Gradually speed up until you start to break a sweat.
- Keep it up for five to 15 minutes.
- Then get stretching – it lengthens the muscles and helps prevent injury.
Just a few minutes before your chosen activity will prevent you from missing out on it for weeks to come!
